NASPL STANDARDS INITIATIVE (NSI) CERTIFICATION AND VERIFICATION PROGRAM

The NSI Certification and Verification Program was developed and is operated by The Open Group on behalf of the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL).

The NSI is a collaborative development effort, with participation from the lotteries, gaming vendors, and retail associations in the development of standards, best practices, and certification and verification programs for the lottery industry.

The objective of the NSI Certification and Verification Program is to encourage and facilitate the adoption and implementation of NSI Best Practices and Technical Standards by lotteries, lottery industry vendors, retailers, and other lottery industry expert organizations that provide software, hardware, or services to lotteries. The program provides formal recognition of an organization's conformance to an industry Best Practice or Technical Standard.

The Certification Program is for vendors and other organizations that wish to demonstrate and receive recognition for the conformance of their business practices and technologies to the NSI Best Practices and Technical Standards, whereas the Verification Program is the parallel program providing the means for lotteries to demonstrate conformance in the areas applicable to lotteries.

Under the program, organizations warrant conformance to an NSI Best Practice or Technical Standard. This warrant ensures that the technology or business practice conforms to an industry standard, will remain conformant throughout the life of the registration, and any non-conformance will be promptly fixed.

For a list of current certified technologies and business practices, see the Certification Register.
For a list of current verified technologies and business practices, see the Verification Register.
