Chris Moyer, an EDS Fellow based in the United Kingdom, is the chief technology officer (CTO) for EDS Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He is the executive responsible for overall technical direction and innovation in EDS’ second-largest market. Additionally, Moyer supports the EDS Fellows Program activities for government clients worldwide. The title of EDS Fellow is awarded to the corporation’s most innovative thought leaders in recognition of their exceptional achievements.

As an EDS Fellow, Moyer is focused on assisting EDS clients in developing and delivering business information systems that provide them with competitive advantage. He provides technical input to new business opportunities; leads technical assessments of large, complex projects; and guides activities with alliance partners to ensure rapid, successful use of new technology. Moyer also leads the EMEA Enterprise CTO team, a group of technology leaders working with EDS clients to build integrated information and technology plans that support business change.

Moyer joined EDS in 1985 and has held a range of positions in the United States, Japan and Europe. He has delivered business solutions for many clients including General Motors, Mitsui, Sony and the U.S. Government.

He became technical director for the UK Inland Revenue Division following its transition to EDS in 1994. In that role, he provided technical leadership for the first two major IT successes for UK Government outsourcing: the Computerised Environment for Self Assessment tax program and Infrastructure 2000, a program that delivered new office infrastructure to Inland Revenue’s 60,000 users in 600 offices. Moyer also provided technical leadership for EDS’ E-Solutions business in Europe, Africa and Asia Pacific.

He joined the EDS EMEA executive team from eBreviate, an EDS company, providing innovative, Internet-based strategic procurement software, where he was vice president and CTO, responsible for product development and infrastructure.

Before joining EDS, Moyer was a network analyst with Marathon Oil Company in Findlay, Ohio.

Moyer has a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Central Michigan University and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
